Sponsor Focus - Hatten Wyatt

Who are you and what do you do?

Hatten Wyatt Solicitors & Advocates, based on Windmill Street in Gravesend, is the umbrella firm of a group of legal practices across Kent with offices in Gravesend, Maidstone, Chatham, Tenterden and Tonbridge. Hatten Wyatt has 10 highly-experienced Partners and just fewer than 80 staff, all of whom are specialists in their particular areas of law. Our sole focus is on achieving the best possible outcome for our clients, who range from individuals and families to businesses and charities.

We keep abreast of current thinking and practice and aim to provide cost effective and practical solutions for our clients. Paramount to our approach is ensuring that relationships with our clients are exceptional.

We are regulated by the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority and are members of the Law Society, where we are accredited for family law, residential conveyancing and criminal litigation.

What has been your experience of the awards?

Having previously entered and been finalists in the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Dartford & Gravesham Business Awards, we decided to become sponsors of the event when it became the ‘Gravesham Business Awards’ in 2018. Being sponsors of the awards means we are an integral part of the planning and management of the event, and also, as a judge, get to visit the finalists in their typical businesses environments.

Since being part of the event, we’ve seen a plethora of different businesses enter, really allowing us to see the variety of businesses that we have within the borough. Not only are the awards free to enter, but your business will get free publicity on the GBA website and social media pages, as well as an invite to the Gala Dinner in October.

The Gala Dinner, which all finalists are invited too, is certainly one of the highlights of the calendar! As well as meeting and networking all the other finalists and sponsors, you can enjoy a 3 course meal, guest speakers and presenters, and a disco into the early hours!

Overall, our experience as both entrants and sponsors of the awards has been excellent, so make sure to start planning your entry today!

What do you love about business in Gravesham?

With a total of 5 offices across Kent, we are passionate about supporting local business. Hatten Wyatt has been established in Gravesend since 1844 and as a result, has a vested interest in what happens within the borough. We work with a variety of local companies in Gravesham, as well as working closely with the Economic Development Team at Gravesham Borough Council. The variety of businesses that Gravesham hosts never fails to amaze us, and proves we have some truly talented and entrepreneurial people within our borough. From The Panic Room (the UK’s largest escape room) to an award winning fish and chip shop, Gravesham certainly seems to be a key contender as a location for all sized businesses.

What advice would you give to other Gravesham businesses?

Our advice to local businesses would be to never underestimate the opportunities that Gravesham can offer and to take all the support that they can get from not only the Borough Council, but also from other local companies and residents. We love to hear about personal experiences and anecdotes in your entries and these are the things that will really make you stand out in your application form. Make sure to include every little detail that makes your business unique; we can’t wait to read them all and good luck!
