Tearoom provides more than a ‘cuppa’ - Maries Tearoom

Popular Maries Tearoom based in Gravesend High Street has weathered the hospitality storm for the past few years and navigated its way through to continuing to offering a first class community service. Celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year is a testament to its resilience.

Like many other local businesses, Maries was disappointed and felt the impact of the recent Gravesend ferry closure.

However owner Graham only accepts an evolving, positive outlook.

He said: “The company has a strong focus on community groups such as creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where people can gather and connect like the monthly autism group, the knitting group that meets every Monday and the resources we've introduced for breastfeeding mothers making us more than just a business; it makes us a cherished community hub.”
