Gravesham Borough Council

Since the 2019 Awards, Gravesham’s local economy has shown huge resilience and an ability to adapt to a very different trading environment. The Council’s sponsorship of the Awards is an investment in the achievements of local enterprises, large and small, as they have adapted how and where they do business. With an ambition for our operations to be net zero by 2030, the Council also intends the awards to promote those who have made strides to reduce their or clients’ environmental footprint.

The team is looking forward to meeting applicants and putting local successes firmly ‘on the map’.Dr. Lauren Sullivan, Cabinet Member For Strategic Environment

The local economy is a diverse mix; from entrepreneurial micro businesses taking advantage of new trends and serving flourishing new communities, through to larger established firms such as Moove UK, Kimberly Clark, Rodenstock and Britannia Refined Metals. We are also starting to see a growth in social purpose enterprises, with a return to the community.

Gravesham Borough Council is committed to creating an environment in which local enterprises can thrive and grow. Free business support includes access to grants, loans and funding; training and apprenticeships; commercial property searches and business rates, planning and licencing advice.
