Cyclopark

More people moving, more often

Cyclopark is a long-established health and wellbeing charity (www.cyclopark.com) in Gravesend, Kent, on a mission to get people moving more on two feet and two wheels. The purpose is two-fold, supporting public health to address the significant health inequalities in the area and operating one of the major cycling centres in the country.

With 42 per cent of Year 6 children overweight, one in three adults inactive and a life expectancy differing by up to 14 years between nearby wards falling within the top 10 per cent most deprived in England, Cyclopark offer a wide range of ride (cycling), fitness and play activities.

This includes over 5,000 for free, to provide a community hub that drives positive change.  A large proportion of the 49-acre site’s activities are on two, three and four wheels through cycling for all ages and abilities. This includes the inspirational Cyclo4All inclusive cycling programme and coaching for all levels of rider, from Learn2Ride to GB representatives, alongside staging multiple events from family play-based to British Championships, thus providing motivation, profile and valuable economic impact to the area.

Ambition rides high and is achievable with this organisation which aims to be the centre of cycling in the region. This should enhance the current discovery of hidden talent as well as staging world-class events with a renewed focus on inspiring more people to get on a bike through the development of a more robust grassroots participation offer for children and adults.
