Determination won through
Gravesham Network Development CIC based in Wilfred Street, Gravesend, was set up in 2011 to address the needs of young people and to improve the health and well-being of the local community, especially those with disadvantages or from hard-to-reach groups.
The organisation constantly strives to assist residents with their physical, emotional and mental health, both at the Grand, or by referring people to partner or local organisations, whichever is best placed to help. Those who have been supported say it was a life-changing experience.
Following a substantial cut in financial support from Kent County Council, the team has worked hard to diversify its income. In March 2025, an extraordinary evening of live music was co-created alongside young people with stars from the West End, television and the music industry.
Performing together with local young people in aid of creative youth and wellbeing services, resulted in the show raising £58,000 to support the delivery of the work which the CIC is passionate about.
