Grants from Gravesham Council to help businesses
On the 27 January, Gravesham Borough Council opened two Omicron business grant schemes which may be of interest to you or your clients.
- Omicron Hospitality & Leisure Grant (Rateable Businesses)
The Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant is a one-off grant to support hospitality, leisure and accommodation businesses.
Eligibility
The aim of the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant scheme is to support businesses:
- that offer in-person services
- where the main service and activity takes place in a fixed rate-paying premises
- in the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors
Grant award levels will range from £2,667 to £6,000

2. ARG Discretionary Omicron Grant (Non-rateable Businesses)
An additional ‘top-up’ of discretionary Additional Restrictions Grant is available, primarily to support other businesses within the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors (or suppliers to these) that are outside of the business rates system and can demonstrate that their trade has been severely impacted by the rise of the Omicron variant.
Grant award levels will range from £750 to £6,000

3. To help businesses with recovery and growth, the Council has partnered with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) to provide a limited number of free 12 month memberships to local enterprises.
The FSB provides a network of independent help, advice and practical support.
