Business Awards House of Commons Visit

Around 18 Gravesham Business Awards sponsors and 2025 winning firms attended a meeting at the House of Commons at the invitation of Gravesham MP, Dr Lauren Sullivan.

Gravesham Councillor Shane Mochrie-Cox assisted with an extensive tour of the Commons and the House of Lords chamber.

A round table networking event chaired by Dr Sullivan was held in one of the committee rooms, with Adrian Hickmott, Gravesham's Head of Inclusive Growth, Communities & Inclusive Growth Directorate and Councillor Mochrie-Cox taking questions from companies about the area's development.

The businesses posed a number of direct questions to the council attendees and to Dr Sullivan who took the queries on board.

Councillor Shane Mochrie-Cox said: “It was great to join so many local Gravesham businesses in Parliament recently hosted by Dr Lauren Sullivan, MP for Gravesham. The aim was not just to visit to celebrate Gravesham businesses who recently won in the annual Gravesham Business Awards, but also to host a listening event continuing the excellent dialogue we have locally with Gravesham businesses.

“Gravesham Borough Council is committed to maintaining this dialogue, to advocate for businesses in Gravesham, both new and established and I look forward to continuing these discussions.”

The visit was deemed a big success by the group and there could be further developments in the months ahead.
